Our Story – From a Dream to wasserCHRAFT

Back in 2001, three rafting guides stood on the banks of the Vorderrhein. With years of experience on whitewater, plenty of adventurous spirit and the desire to create something of their own, they envisioned a smaller, more personal outdoor company. Their goal was simple: to transform a large operation (Eurotrek) into a place where people come first, where guides work in a familiar and supportive environment, and where guests are welcomed as individuals – not as numbers in a system.

The name wasserCHRAFT was born quickly. A playful combination of water, raft and the Swiss CH, it reflects our identity, our home and our deep respect for the power and beauty of moving water.

What began as rafting on the Vorderrhein steadily grew over the years. The Landquart joined as a wilder, more energetic contrast. Soon after, funyaks, kayaks and packrafts expanded our range – allowing guests to experience river adventures up close, light and dynamic. Eventually, canyoning became part of our world too: exploring gorges, waterfalls and natural pools shaped over thousands of years.

As our activities grew, so did our philosophy – a guiding compass that defines who we are today.

Our Philosophy:

. At wasserCHRAFT, people come first.
Our guests have names, not numbers. We listen carefully, respect individual wishes and do everything we can to create a personal, memorable experience on the river.

. Food plays an important role in our tours too.
We offer high-quality, regional cuisine, and our meat comes directly from our village butcher – fresh, local, and responsibly sourced.

. Respect for nature is at the heart of what we do.
We use no disposable tableware. Working outdoors every day reminds us to protect the environment that gives us so much.

. For extra comfort, we offer something unique:
We are the only provider with warm showers at the take-out point on the Vorderrhein. A beautiful barbecue area overlooking the river is also available – the perfect way to end a day on the water.

. And finally, we believe in fairness.
Our prices reflect a fair wage policy. We don’t do “cheap and fast.” We believe in quality, safety and genuine passion for what we do.

Over the years, much water has flowed down the Vorderrhein. The river has changed – and we have grown and evolved with it. Yet one thing has remained constant:

wasserCHRAFT is, and always will be, a family-run outdoor company – warm, grounded, personal. A place where people are seen, appreciated and called by name.

We love what we do. We love the elements – water, wind and snow.
And we look forward to sharing this passion with you – whether on a rafting adventure, canyoning tour or any of our outdoor experiences in the Swiss Alps.
